“A family business is more than just a company. Our vision for the future to achieve a market and customer focused alignment and to take calculated risks for growth is derived from our family’s tradition and its accompanying values.” Martin Krengel, Vorstandsvorsitzender WEPA Industrieholding SE
WEPA is a family business that is currently being run by the three Krengel brothers and the Management Team. The future is rooted in the past – therefore, the values of the founder are still the basis for the behaviour and the appraisal of the management, the employees as well as the way we treat our customers and suppliers. Values and income return are closely linked. This balance has made WEPA one of the TOP 5 European manufacturers of hygienic paper – the takeover of the Kartogroup was financed internally. The ethical principles of the company were a decisive factor for achieving this – in addition to growth, the safeguarding of all jobs in Italy were an important objective as a result of these family values. Values and income return are mutual requirements at WEPA – one does not exist without the other. This means that the company will continue on its course for growth in the future and will successively further develop the ten sites in Europe.
WEPA creates convincing products for the end consumer and offers its clients solutions focused on the needs of the consumer. The more convincing the products are, the greater the added value for WEPA’s clients in trade, industry and across Europe.
Over 600,000 tons of high-quality hygienic paper such as toilet paper, kitchen rolls, tissues, cosmetic tissues, napkins, industrial paper rolls and paper towel are manufactured in ten sites on seventeen paper machines. These products are mainly distributed to German and European retailers for the consumer industry as private labels. In addition, the business segment WEPA Professional delivers a complete range of hygienic paper products and dispenser systems for use in washrooms and for cleaning - mainly under the WEPA brand name “Clou” - to the so-called “Away-from-Home” segment.
With over 950 million Euros turnover in 2009, the WEPA Group is among the strongest TOP 5 companies in the European hygiene paper sector and has more than 2,900 employees in Germany, Italy, France, Spain and Poland to ensure delivery to clients across Europe.
